Background
A sure-fire contender for a one-hit wonder award is L.A based singer Joey Scarbury. Many will remember him as the voice behind the TV series theme song for 'America's Greatest Hero' featuring William Katt. This was a huge show back in the early 80's, with Scarbury tapped to sing for the show, thanks to his association with producer Mike Post, who had links to many shows during this timeframe. Scarbury had been around since the late 60's, and had undertaken session work during the 70's.

The Songs
Elektra Records released the single 'Believe It Or Not', and it made it to #2 on the Billboard Charts, thanks to the success of 'America's Greatest Hero'. As a result, an album was sure to follow, even though many didn't realise there was one! The participants on the LP are all mostly top-of-heap L.A based session musicians, in particular Larry Carlton who also had a strong working relationship with Mike Post (theme song to 'Hill Street Blues'). So what about the rest of the LP? Is it up to GloryDaze standards? If you like your music in the region of England Dan & John Ford Coley then this is for you. Scarbury's voice is quite pleasant, though truth be told, there are far too many ballads here. 'Take This Heart of Mine' is the only real upbeat track of note, with 'Everything But Love' and 'Love Me Like The Last Time' close behind. The second single 'When She Dances' made it to #79 in the single charts, but it too lived in ballad land, and didn't fare so well.

In Summary
This would be the only album release for Scarbury, and though he continued to work during the 80's, his output was limited to songwriting mostly. 'America's Greatest Hero' did receive a 2005 CD reissue thanks to the Collectables label, and is not so difficult to find.

Had this for years and agree with the review. Pretty average stuff with a few highlights, including the much covered 'Love Me Like the Last Time.'
